Dr. Sofia Solar Cafaggi is a family physician with specialty training in Sport and Exercise Medicine, and an avid sports enthusiast. She completed medical school and family medicine residency at the University of Toronto, and then pursued a fellowship in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Alberta. She has been involved with multiple sporting organizations at the local, varsity, and professional levels in both Toronto and Edmonton. Most recently, she worked with Canada Soccer as team physician for the U15 Women’s National Soccer Team during an international tournament.
Prior to her medical career, Dr. Solar Cafaggi worked as a management consultant in the healthcare space. She holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University and a master’s degree in Translational Medicine/Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
Dr. Solar Cafaggi strongly believes exercise is medicine, and strives to keep her patients active, healthy, and injury-free. She is also very interested in biomedical innovation, and hopes to combine her interdisciplinary knowledge in engineering, business, and medicine to help improve patient care via technology use.
