Maria is a dedicated Athletic Therapist and Registered Massage Therapist specializing in the treatment of active and athletic populations. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes collaborative care, working closely with each patient to identify the root causes of their issues and address biomechanical dysfunctions. Maria employs a combination of manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation techniques, which aim to empower her patients on their path to recovery.
Growing up immersed in the world of sports, Maria spent her summers at tennis camp and danced competitively for ten years. Her experiences as an athlete have equipped her with a unique understanding of the physical and mental demands placed on her patients. This background fuels her passion for helping others achieve their athletic goals.
Maria earned her Honours Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Toronto and enhanced her expertise through the Bachelor of Applied Health Science – Athletic Therapy program at Sheridan College. Entering her third year, Maria has been a vital member of the Humber College varsity athletic therapy department, providing on-field and clinical support to varsity athletes, acting as the lead therapist for the women’s softball and volleyball teams.
In addition to her athletic therapy background, Maria recently completed the Diploma Massage Therapy program at the Ontario College of Health and Technology in Stoney Creek. She has gained valuable experience working in multidisciplinary environments with a diverse range of athletes, from youth to professional athletes and Olympians. Her role as a key member of medical teams has allowed her to travel across Canada, as well as California and Amsterdam, further enriching her professional journey.
Maria is committed to helping her patients optimize their performance and recover from injuries, drawing on her extensive knowledge and personal experiences in the realm of sports and wellness.
