Katerina graduated from York University with both, Kinesiology and Psychology degrees. During university she worked as a personal trainer and then went on to work as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Katerina decided she wasn’t finished learning and chose to pursue physiotherapy. She received her Masters in Physical Therapy from D’Youville College in New York State and returned to Toronto to start her career. Throughout her career, Katerina has had great mentors and has actively participated in post-graduate education. As a result she has an extensive background in exercise. She has taken numerous manual therapy courses, is a medical acupuncture provider, and is a Nordic Pole Walking, TRX, and Pilates instructor.
Over the span of her career, Katerina has gained experience with the young and old alike, fit and frail, athletes and desk jockeys. Having recently become a mom, she has a newfound interest in pre and post natal rehabilitation. Beyond physiotherapy, Katerina has done field work with rep soccer, was a Hockey Trainer for GTHL AAA Bantam Red Wings and Midget Jr. Canadians, and was part of the medical team during the 2014 Toronto Pan Am Games.
Katerina loves spending time with her family and enjoys being outdoors and staying active. Her hobbies include Nordic Pole walking, hiking, biking, running, working out, and ballet and salsa dancing. As a therapist her goal is to identify the cause of dysfunction, empower patients to take control, and to promote an active lifestyle. “Helping people get back to enjoying their life is truly rewarding.”
