Jonathan Lockwood, MD, is a Sports Medicine Physician at LiveActive, specializing in the diagnosis and management of sports-related injuries and various injection therapies. He has a particular interest in throwing athletes, diagnostic ultrasound, and the health of elite athletes post-retirement.
Before his medical career, Dr. Lockwood was a professional baseball player in the Seattle Mariners organization and represented Canada in international tournaments, including the World Cup of Baseball and the Olympic Games. He leverages this experience to treat athletes of all skill levels, focusing on both mental and physical health on and off the field.
Dr. Lockwood earned his Bachelor of Science, medical degree, and completed his family medicine training at the University of Toronto. He holds a fellowship in sports and exercise medicine from the University of Saskatchewan and has a diploma from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM). He is also a member of the World Olympians Association and the Association of Professional Baseball Players of America.
Outside of treating patients, Dr. Lockwood stays active at the gym and participates in various recreational sports.
