Daniel Mills is a Registered Physiotherapist who completed his Masters of Physical Therapy at Queens University following the completion of his undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph. Daniel grew an interest in the field after receiving care for numerous injuries he experienced growing up playing competitive sports such as hockey and baseball. Experiencing injuries in these environments allowed Daniel to understand the importance of proper care and guidance in order to safely and properly return to the hobbies, sports, and activities that become limited when injury or pain becomes a limiting factor.
Since completing his Masters in Physiotherapy, Daniel has become particularly interested in the recovery of running related injuries. As a long distance runner himself, Daniel understands the frustration that these injuries provide and finds motivation in aiding both recreational, and competitive runners return to their normal routine and achieve any upcoming goals they may have. Daniel has completed the following continuing education pertaining to these injuries. These courses are: Real Running for Clinicians and Run Coaching for Clinicians. In order to aid in the care of running related injuries, as well as additional musculoskeletal and neurological related conditions, Daniel has also become certified in Acupuncture and Dry Needling.
In addition to running related injuries, Daniel has experience treating various athlete related injuries, common musculoskeletal conditions, nerve irritations, as well as pre- and post-operative conditions. He likes to utilize a variety of manual therapy, education, and exercise prescription in order to help patients achieve their recovery related goals. Outside the clinic, you can find Daniel at the rink playing hockey, training for his next running race, or socializing with his friends at new restaurants across the city. As a physiotherapist, Daniel’s goals are to create an environment in which the patient feels involved, aware, and knowledgeable about their rehab in order help them best return to their sport or daily activities in confidence and without limitations.
