Allen Frankel is a highly experienced podiatrist in Downtown Toronto, with over 40 years dedicated to providing specialized care and effective surgical solutions. He began his academic journey at the University of Toronto and later attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree in 1984. Following his graduation, Frankel completed a rigorous Surgical Residency program at Warminster General Hospital near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, gaining expertise in Laser and Minimal Incision Surgery (MIS). Additionally, he participated in the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University Sports Medicine Clinics, where he acquired substantial experience treating professional athletes. Frankel is an Associate Member of the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons (ABPS) and the American College of Foot Surgeons (ACFAS).
His extensive training and hands-on experience make him a leading specialist in minimal incision surgery for the correction of bunions and hammertoes, as well as various open surgical procedures. He has been instrumental in advancing surgical procedures and treatment protocols within Ontario, contributing significantly to the field of podiatric medicine.
In addition to his clinical practice, Frankel has served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Podiatric Medical Association and completed a six-year term on the Provincial College Council. During his tenure, he chaired the Disciplines Committee and served as President of the College in his final year, further solidifying his leadership and commitment to the field.
